A small doubt. In one temple there was some inscriptions of 9th C. When some raiders attacked the temple - the epigraph fell apart but during renovation they protected it.

In modern times when an EO who has some interest in history - erected a platform and kept them there.

Now can we make a glass case and protect them. what are the precautions to be taken?
The inscriptions belong to Pandya Varaguna ii. The new EO wants to know.

    Can you pl guide us

First is to check if the inscriptions have already been copied / published?
Normally stone inscriptions do not need a glass case, as they can withstand
normal wear n tear ( if not used as steps !!) - so best would be to have it
mounted at a resonable height and ensure that a small board is kept with the
copy of inscription - so that passersby know what is written
  • It is copied. But need to be protected from the staff. It is close to sea. Hence the request for case.
