A small doubt. In one temple there was some inscriptions of 9th C. When some raiders attacked the temple - the epigraph fell apart but during renovation they protected it.
In modern times when an EO who has some interest in history - erected a platform and kept them there.
Now can we make a glass case and protect them. what are the precautions to be taken? The inscriptions belong to Pandya Varaguna ii. The new EO wants to know.
First is to check if the inscriptions have already been copied / published? Normally stone inscriptions do not need a glass case, as they can withstand normal wear n tear ( if not used as steps !!) - so best would be to have it mounted at a resonable height and ensure that a small board is kept with the copy of inscription - so that passersby know what is written
