TREASURE TROVE: Gold Coins that were found on a private land at a village in Dharmapuri district.
Dharmapuri: A treasure pot containing 131 stone-age gold coins found on a private land was handed over to the Dharmapuri District Collector, P. Amudha, here on Wednesday.
The pot was found by the land owner, Kamal, wife of Nadimadhu of Kalkoodapatti village at Palakkode taluk in Dharmapuri district, while digging pits for laying foundation last week. People conveyed the information to the Palakkode tahsildar, Duke Ponnuraj, on Wednesday. Mr. Ponnuraj asked Mrs. Kamal to hand over the same to the district administration. Value not known
The weight and value of the coins are not known immediately, Mr. Ponnuraj said.
