Congrats Ventakesh. Looking forward to seeing the published book soon
The much awaited sequel of PS 'Kaviri Mainthan' by our beloved Venkatesh is already in book form, awaiting to be released in the book fair which starts on 10th. Wishing all the best for the success of this book.
So, Venkatesh, you sure will reserve a copy for me, wont you?
There are others who might want a copy too... hmmm... okay, folks, whomever needs a copy of 'Kaviriyin Mainthan' drop me a mail. I will collect the no.s, cash and organize the delivery of books. (Venkatesh - do you mind me doing this? or do you have a better logistic solution, than my adhoc approach?)
Got a copy yesterday in the book fair. Will try to read and write more.
The book fair itself was fantastic but I use it only as a place to get some rare books(at least those that may not be immedietly available in HB, Landmark and odessey). Bought quite a few books yesterday but I think it has gotten too big and chennaites treat it more like a picnic than a book fair. There was food, plastics everywhere. How difficult it will be to put 3-4 trash cans along the way? But it was fun in its own way.
So few of our group members have gone to the book fair at different times. it would have been great if we all could have grouped together.
Yesterday, Swetha, Natarajan Srinivasan, Chandra, Sankaran and myself visited the book fair. A stall selling a single book and attrackign a huge crowd is something great. Hats of venkatesh. We are really proud of you. Swetha had asked for two copies of KM and when returning, Venkatesh said he is busy and running out of stock, so will deliver the book at her house. That shows the book was selling like hot cakes.
As usualy, PS and SS and PK were the most available books in the fair. Somehow I feel this year the fair was not that charming. I dont know why, but i couldnt step upon a book which attracted me to buy it immediately. Earlier, every other book used to attract attention. Not sure whether the layout of the new location is not proper or the stalls were not arranged to put books to catch the attention.
Muthu Prakash, your point on a dust bin at frequent distance - I too thought about it. Every year, in the fair, when I collect lots of the ad pamplets, I used to search for dust bins but not even a single bin will be in sight. I really dont understand, why such a huge fair cant have a single dust bin. Every year I used to carry lots of papers with me to house and dump it at my house to put it in the bin. Incidently, today Sun TV telecasts 'Anniyan' a movie on self discipline. :)
Vandiyadevan vaal is available for purchase in this website http://www.newbooklands.com/. Donno about nandipurathu nayagi. If u found anywhere please let me know.
Come on deepa, did you not go to the bangalore book fair?? it was nice and quiet held after diwali in Nov. I picked up a dozen tamil books(vizag dhiva's vamsadhara, devan's comedy, crazy's comedy series and so forth) so that I could carry them to US.. :)
