Dear sps could we all list the importance of the places we are going to see on the trip in relation to ponniyin selvan only
the big temple at tanjore
what big temple you may all ask? where was this big temple in ps????????
yes it does
the temple pond of big temple has the thalikulathar temple. this is where uthama sola and his deaf and dumb mother vani did service for the lord. a service for which he was rewarded with the post of emperor.
come on everybody start listing the places and their importance in ps
When u enter Thanjai, there is a bridge just before the State Transport office(CRC). This is supposed to have been the agazhi that Vandiyath Devan crossed while entering the Thanjai kottai.
2)one great scene with vandiyathevan, aditya karikalan, manimekalai and nanthini on its banks they are marooned here. one nice scene where you get a feeling that kalki has not decided how to finish the story
VD crossed vadavaru as mentioned in PS. But this river vadavaru has changed its course many a times subsequently, hence i doubt whether this would be the same place where VD would have crossed VD.
Recollecting places, let me chip in.
a) Kudanthai (Jothidar's house where VD storming in and seeing Kundhavai/Vanathi) b) Dharasuram - Close to Pazhaiyaarai c) Thiruppanandhaal (close to thirupurambiyam forest) d) After crossing kudanthai maybe somewhere after sundaraperumaal koil/papanaasam you can somewhere locate the place of chathiram with broken trees (same time when cyclone hit Nagapattinam)
There are very less chances that we cross kollidam. There are lots of water channels inside Kumbakonam. Kaveri and its tributaries run criss-cross. It is difficult to point where Kudanthai Josier's house would have been.
Remember the scene where Vanathi is frightened by a stuffed crocodile? This happens at the banks of arasalaru. We will cross this.
hey what do you mean we wont cross kollidam??? the vikravandi- kudanthai road must cut kollidam before we come to cauvery. no? i was always told the walls of gkc were broken by the british to lay the foundation of the kollidam bridge?
