Since the word "The Third Eye" used in the mail, I remember another interesting fact to share with the group. One of my doctor friend was mentioning this to me,referring his First year syllabus long time ago:
"In a developing fetus(child at embroyo), the master gland "pituitary gland" will be in the Shape of another Eye. This gland at such early stage of the fetu, that is vital for brain formation, will look like a vertical eye. The western scientist, who have stuided about this glands development has quoted "I was surprised to observe this gland looking like a third eye, if prominent, even during later developments of the child. And I attended a seminar by Dr. Radhakrishnan on "The Hindu Philosopy" and wondered one of god who is in Deep medidation(control of all our "pulangazhal") have a outknown Third Eye. And this Pituitary gland, the master of our endocrine system, predominant for our self- control,will take up a third eye shape if One can control One-self".
What I understand is this Pituitary gland has to function if an individual wants to control his vital senses..and if this gland becomes prominent, it takes a shape of an EYE.
What a surprising fact.. Long ago, our GOD does have a third eye.. Any Doctors view?
Dear Raj The pituitary is the master gland which controls most of our endocrine functions including growth,Sexual growth,intelligence etc But whether this looks like an eye I have to look up I dont remeber it looks anything like the eye.. The position is just behind the midpoint of the eyes
Someone I know had a theory that since pituitary gland controls intelligence AND sexual urge, high intellectuals tend to be have multiple marriages or affairs. Key word is tend to have. I have read the English version of the Osho book. It is definitely worth reading by people who are interested about practices of Hinduism. Siva
