Kooththa Nool
  • Dear Guys,

There was an ancient book on dance ( Kooththa Nool )
    written during Tamil Sankam period.

This book was thought to be lost. But from a mail
thread, I understand that some body had a possession
of it and first few chapters were printed. But the
published died and the remaining were lost again..

Since all this happened a few decades ago, there is a
good chance that we might be able to recover this book
    in its full form.

If this book is recovered, it would be a great thing
    for Tamil.

But it requires contacts at high places and follow up.

    Anyone interested in this quest?
  • Thanks SPS. I will meet them sometime.
  • Mr. Srihari wrote about this long time back

And most surprisingly, I got an opportunity to see this book recently.
Another interesting book which stunned me is Yazh nool by Yogiyar.
  • Dear Gokul,

Are u refering to the book which attepts to reconstruct various yazhs based on sangam and post sangam literature? It was written by Swami Vipulanandha adigal. Do u have a copy of 'kooththa nool'?

  • Swami Vipulananthar wrote "Yalzh Nool" is it not?
  • Yes, it is Yazh Nool, as Gokul mentioned about Yazh Nool, I thought
the conversation is on that direction.

On Kootha Nool, I have also making some efforts, let us hope for the
    best.
