Can anyone briefly tell me the happenings aftermath PS. Bcos, thru some discussion I found out some statements about Ravi Dhasan, Senthan Amuthan, Peria Piraatti etc. What are the important happenings post PS.
Hi Seenu, Suggest you go through the mail exchange that happened for the first few months after the creation of this group. They are all really interesting. You will get answers for the most of the unanswered questions, which we can't ask Kalki now.
enna ithu thideernu ivvalavu amaithiya irukku? A lull considering in the hectic activities of the past week.
Coming to the point,
1. Uththama Chozhan rules the country for more than a decade. The last two years of his rule, he shares the throne with AMV.
2. AMV and VD undertook naval expeditions and roamed around the country during Uththama's rule. This is probably a strategy to mingle with the people and gauge the country.
3. Ravidasan was one of the important ministers in Uththama's council. How long he held that post, was he a minister when AMV was the co-regent, these are anybody's guess.
4. Two years after he became the king, RRC held Ravidasan and associates responsible for AK's death. He punished them by exiling their families (almost the entire population of Udaiyurkudi village).
5. How RRC ascended the throne, we still don't know. Did Uththama die or was he dethroned? Uththama had a male heir who served as a Temple Audit Official - probably one of the 'Enperayam Council' or a 'Perunthanathu Athikari' - whether he laid a claim to the throne or not, we don't know.
6. There is a line of thought that Uththama along with his mother Sembiyanmadevi conspired to get the throne and they were assisted by Ravidasan, who was a friend-cum-guide (not abaththudavi) of Veera Pandiyan.
7. Nandhini killing AK doesn't come into the picture as she is a fictitious character.
8. Sendhan Amudhan and Poongkuzhali are also imaginary characters.
9. Anirudhdhar seems to have vanished(!) during Uththama's period. He however adorned RRC's court.
Aftermath of PS has lots of scope. Kalki mudivuraiyil koduthirukkum ovvoru pointukkum oru kathai ezhuthalam.
'Nandipurathu Nayaki' is widely considered to be the sequel to PS. A good book, but definitely not in the genre of PS.
>> Did Uththama die or was he dethroned? DETHRONED & DIED .. IS ANYONE EXPECTED TO FIND EVIDENCE ?
This is a little puzzling. If Uththama was dethroned, why wasn't he and his family shunned? His son becomes a Govt official and his mom keeps building temples by the dozen?
Is dethroning such a simple act? God, it is equal to our present day impeachment, right? Were there any objections to this? He is the reigning emperor, he should have surely had some support.
Moreover, Mazhavarayar - his maternal uncle - was an important kurunila mannar isn't it? I guess he had three wives. Given the fact that king married from powerful families, he should have had their support also.
If Uththama was dethroned, why did RRC wait for a year to punish Ravidasan?
>> Uththama had a male heir who served as a Temple Audit Official. HE COULD NOT HAVE. MADURANTHAKA KANDRADITHAN REMAINED SUBDUED TILL 996 AD!
I agree. After all that happened to Ravidasan, this boy must have considered himself lucky to be left alive. Then where is the question of the throne. What happened to him after 996, did he join hands with the enemies?
>> Sendhan Amudhan (CREATED BASED ON CERTAIN INPUTS)
God, you are really dangling the carrot in front of my eyes! Please tell more about 'Certain inputs'.
>> ANIRUDH IS DIFFERENT. KRISHNAN RAMAN IS DIFFERENT.
Anirudhdhar was a diplomat, an official, Sundarar's friend. On the other hand, Krishnan Raman was a warrior. Initially I was also puzzled by Udaiyar. Even then, didn't Anirudhdhar serve in RRC's court also?
>> THIS IS AN OBSESSION .. INTOXICATING STUFF .. THOUGH REGRET, COULD NOT RESIST REPETITIONS ...
I completely agree with you. Ever since I read PS a decade ago, I've been hooked. If only I get a time machine that will take me into the past!
So Hh also > comes under the > cloud. ARUMOZHI. > > Thiruvalangadu copper plates describe RRC as a > possible contender for > Chozha Throne... which he sacrificed and put > Uthama.. > > Obviously he also comes under cloud.
> This leaves only three suspects :: ARUMOZHI - UTHAMA > - PANDYAS > > Let us say, people supporting Arumozhi suspect > Uthama, and people > supporting Uthama - the King, whose side > Pazhuvettarayr continued to > remain, suspect Arumozhi. > > Further we can speculate that either of these two, > might have availed > Pandya help to eliminate AK to come closer to throne
> WHAT WERE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARRIVED AT ... > BETWEEN UTHAMA AND > ARUMOZHI ? >
If Arumozhi is to be suspected for AK's murder how come and why does he punish Ravidasan and Co, who is a close associate of Uthama? If Uthama and RRC has any kind of pact he could have punished Ravidasan much earlier - does that mean he waited all the years to collect evidence - which also could mean - he is not under any cloud (?)
With so many lines of thinking my head is spinning. We have all the temples and many monumnets standing as a mute witness to all the happenings. If only these can talk... or we get into a time machine and travell back ...
agni sirakugalil namma president avaroda scientist friend ezhuthinatha oru kavithai solluvaaru. I don't remember the exact lines. It is something like 'the work is giving trouble, so many hurldes, family is upset as I don't spend time with them, Am fed up of all these... mudiyai pichchukkalam-nu thalaiyil kai vaithal, aiyyo anga mudiye illai!'
