• speaking about kalasams there used to be a story about them being
filled with different types of grain meant to be seeds
during frequently occuring famines people used to eat up the grain
meant for seed the next year.
thus there ensued an artificial famine inspite of good agricultural
the kalasams of temple s were made of copper alloys which conserved
the virility of seeds and they were replenished every twelve years
    during kumbabishekams

is this fact or an old wives tale?

  • That explains why Kalasams are offered prayers.
Everything our ancestos had done had some meaning in it.
