SIVA SARANA SEKARAN @ RAJENDRA CHOZHA !
  • Dear Friends,

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MAIL. PLS ARRANGE TO PUT THIS IN THE FILES
    SECTION.

OUR GROUP HAS GONE INTO TAMIL HISTORY YESTERDAY !

Dr. Kalaikkovan, Dr.Nalini & Dr. Akila, with the help of Kamal,
Lavanya, Ram & Sitaraman, have found a new inscription yesterday -
Sunday - the 3rd July 2005, at Tiruvalanchuzhi.

It is the Rajendra's inscription :: 3rd Regnl Yr.

Already, in the Kshethrabalar temple, the same Team had found more
than 2 months back that Rajendra's 3rd Regnl Yr corresponded with
Rajaraja's 29th Regnl Yr. Dr. Kalaikkovan has written extensively on
this already in the 11th varallaru.com issue.

By this, it is PROVED FOR THE FIRST TIME in the HISTORY that RAJARAJA
AND RAJENDRA CO-RULED FOR NEARLY 3 YEARS !

YESTERDAY, from the NEW INSCRIPTION IT IS FOUND THAT :

RAJENDRA CALLED HIMSELF SIVA SARANA SEKARAN in his 3rd Regnl Year,
when Rajaraja was calling himself Siva Paatha Sekaran!

THIS SPECIAL NAME OF RAJENDRA IS GOING TO BE KNOWN TO THE WORLD FROM
THIS INVENTION ONLY AND IT IS DUE TO THE EFFORTS OF OUR GROUP ! SO,
WHEN THE BOOK ON THE INSCRIPTIONS OF TIRUVALANCHUZHI IS WRITTEN,
PONNIYIN SELVAN GROUP WILL BE CITED AS THE REASON FOR THE INVENTION
OF THE NAME OF SIVA SARANA SEKARAN FOR RAJENDRA - an information -
which our forefathers did not have previlege to know.

This Order was given when Rajendra was taking food in the rearside of
the Tiruvalanchuzhi temple! (where we had a small get-together a
month back with Mr. Padhmanaban - a friend of Dr. Kalaikkovan !)

This morning Dr. Kalaikkovan called me over phone and shared this
    happiness.

Intution says we are on to something more .. let us persue ..

  • What a great news !

Siva paadha sekaran means one who bears the feet of lord shiva on his
    head.

So what does siva sarana sekaran means ? "sarana" - what is the exact
    meaning of this word ?

While I personally miss participating in thiruvalanjuzhi excavations,
I'm really happy to see things evolving.

Kudos to the hard working team
  • Dear SPS
    Thats really great news!
Sivasaranasekaran......Does it mean one who surrendered himself to Siva? Siva---Sarana----Saranam or saranagathi Was my logic
But I think its a gold lettered day in our Groups History
Is there anyone willing to chronicle our milestones and achievements If theres no one Ill try to do it
  • Dear SPS
I agree and beg to disagree...
Rajendra was a great warrior you can even call him Alexander of India infact he was greater than Alexnader becuse he also had a strong navy...
But RR did offer him a platform agreed he was the coregent nd was the author of many a military conquests but RR atleast by then had sorted all the minor enemies and the pandyas and cheras hadnt he?
So he does deserve the greatness bestowed
  • Yes I agree with SPS sir, in short, its very difficult to be a son of great father.
  • > Means all the aforesaid speculations of incomplete Big temple are
    > wiped off in single go " Siva Sarana Sekaran !"
    >
    > And .. we are beginning to REALISE of a soft RAJENDRA - Unlike the
    > RUGGED ONE depicted in Hattur (Raichur) inscriptions !!

More than Raichur inscriptions the credit of making rajendra rugged and
a highly misunderstood son of rajaraja goes to writer balakumaran with
    his udaiyar.

    The less said the better
  • Dear SPS Sir,

wow gr8.. "Thiruvalanjuzhi" looks like a treasure. hope to get more.

Siva patha sekaran Vs Siva sarana sekaran? what are all the probable
meanings we will get for this words from tamil as well other
    languages?
  • Swetha,

"Udayaar" is a story, there we can find many misleading information , for Examples he refer Panchavan Magaadevi as devaarradiyal, but in fact is diff ,Pls don't bring "udayaar" that in to History, I have stopped reading that after 3rd part.

I repeat Gokul's words here" The less said the better"
  • I greatly agree with Shankaran.. I stopped reading "udaiyar" after
    2rd part itself.

In my opinion, Kundavai, the Great Lady, took care for RR's Son
growth(any clues on this?) and that itself gurantees for his coduct..

I don't know the details of Raichur's inscriptions but what I can
speculate is, they might be the "the Loser's" view..who naturally
will see the winner as rugged one.

    With regards,
    Raj.
  • Yes, its a Loser's view, the point to be noted in that inscription was, they didn't wants to accept that , they have been defeated by human beings..

so, naturaly it will be aganist RJ , and moreover those days war practice r something diff, which is not accepted by our modern world, we can't measure our great RJ with all those ..
