Adi wishes to all. The talent pool in this group is amazing. I sincerely hope we can translate it into a greater movement to showcase our glorious heritage. Let us take this opportunity to dedicate ourselves to this cause and set some targets n work jointly in that direction.
Wishing you all on this auspicious day of Adi Perukku.
I have been a non-contributing partner in this group for the past 2 years and the amount of information and analysis is simply amazing. Put any subject or poser or query , the feedback or interpretation flows like Cauvery. Wishing on this day of "fresh water flow" , more channelization of this knowledge flow and come up with more books and activities.
yes, why not we call ourselves like that...after all we inherited their unsurpassed culture, tradition and valour...and most us belong to that soil too...in fact all tamils are cholas as they ruled a vast land... this aadi perukku is an auspicios day and we wish you all a very pleasant, happy and divinely blessed life.. we are missing the meeting this year too...
in coimbatore event I saw Dr.Kudavayil Balasubramaniam making a request to Thirumiku Saminathan (tamil heritage foundation) to plan a celebration event in december as it marks the 1000th year of taking over of the throne from RCC by RJC...and Dr.Balsubramaniam, if mymmemory serves me right, came forward to talk about RJC too...
sps sir, why not we also celebrate this occasion in Gangaikondacholapuram....we can plan a two day event and one day post-confernece tour, yes, begining with kollidam located nearby Kadambur and omampuliyur from where Vandhiyathevan began his journey....we can see the famous siva temple in Kaattumannarkoil which was worshipped by the chola familes.....and many more places too....we can visit the mangroves in pichavaram which kalinga balu says served as the major port of RJC....and worship the siva in chidambaram... with best wishes
Gangai Konda Cholapuram temple was earlier standing alone in a big open land unprotected. How doesit look now ? When I visited last to this temple during 2005 there was literally nothing surrounding the temple area. I was worried as the temple stands alone with nobody living around the area. Though the monument is said to be protected by ASI there was nobody in sight when we visited.
