Unicorn Bull of Indus Valley
  • There's so much discussion and controversy regarding the horse seals and unicorn bull seals of INDUS VALLEY

iT JUST OCCURED TO ME THAT in thanjavur kumbakonam area you have some cattle called Molamaadu

Which is bread of cattle without horns but have a horn like projection in the middle and its blunt.

Is this a species which is a remnant of the unicorn bull...is this evidence of indus valley moving southwards....

    any one rremember the molamaadus?

  • I have read about unicorns in western fairy tales.Maybe dravidians
earlier lived there, near ireland. Then they moved east and came to
indus valley. They dragged the molamaadu along with them from
ireland. Then after aryans came and killed them all molamaadus
    escaped and ran to tanjore.

Molamamdus did not come to tanjore via gujarat and maharashtra and
karnataka. There are no molamadus there. So they must have jumped into
indus, swimmed to pakistan and into arabian sea.Must have reached
nagapatinam via indian occean around colombo(No sedusamuthram in
    those day)and reached nagapatinam.
  • Yes, I do remember mola maadus and my journeys in "kattai vandi".
During my childhood days (20 years ago), there were 100s of kattai
vandis at our native. But now when I went back to my native, I dont
see even a single kattai vandi:-(.
  • Dear Priya
Thank you for your sarcastic response.
You may be well read and the rest may be illiterate but this group
    has a decorum....I have seen much wiser,sarcastic and......people so
    these comments dont bother me.
But it will deter young particpants to type their thoughts because
they are going to think Oh what will the response be.....

As a moderator I feel Thats not good for the group..
especilally when we want healthy discussions.
