    this is the special sculputure in the thajnavur district temples. This is called as"rishabhakunjalam"ie, in the same statue with two different  animal shapes. ie if u see in one side, it is look
    like a bull(reshabam) , if u see in other side, it is look like an elephant. This reflects the talents of the old artists in tamil nadu.

    no it is purely Chozha style, same inscription available in few other temples in kumbakonam built by chozhas before nayakars.  :)
