Re PS tele - serial / movie making : Lot of mails have flown in already. Cartoonising is another suggestion. Director / Artists are decided based on the budget... It may be a good idea to post this in some media group also... After Mudhalvan movie - before Boys - I had an opportunity to talk to Wr.Sujatha & Dir.Shankar in a wedding on this, two years back. Shankar liked it. Sorry.. he did not refuse it... Then they were involved in Boys and overcoming the after effects .. Cartoonising may still be a better option as of now...
Re Sequels to PS : There is Vikraman's Nandhipurathu Nayaki & Vandhiyathevan Vaall - published in Amudhasurabhi long time back.. These books must be avl in T.Nagar Renganathan street book stalls.. But these two .. and a few others .. also do not leave fragnance after reading -not worth mentioning .. they do not reveal the true historical pictures either..

I was actually thinking (rather imagining) of who all would fit into the characters of PS. I felt these people would have aptly fit into those characters.
Arul Mozhi - Sivaji (like he was in Parashakthi or Kalyanam PaNNiyum Brahmachari) But N.T.Rama Rao will also fit in this role. Vanthiya Thevan - Gemini Ganesan Kunthavai - Padmini Vaanathi - Jayalalitha Poonkuzhali - Devika Nandhini & Mandakini- Sowkaar Janaki (Had any of u seen the initial pictures of Sowkaar Janaki, u would agree) Aazhvarkadiyan - T. S Baliah Sundara Chozhar - Ranga Rao Sembiyan Maadevi - S. Varalakshmi (she did the role of Kunthavai in Raja Raja Chozhan) Sendan Amuthan - Siva Kumar, like he was in "Uyarntha Manithan film" (Oru maathiriyaana Paal vadiyum mukam) Kaalanda KaNdar - Nambiyaar Periya PazhuvEttarayar - T.K.Bhagavathi Anirudha Brahmaraayar - Sahasranaamam Kandhamaaran - Muthu Raman
Well, I couldn't figure out other characters. Also none of the modern day artists fitted into these characters. May be also because of the reason that they didn't act in too many historic films.
I am actually reading PS once more with these people in mind.
Getting such a combination is impossible. But just an imagination.
Vijay, you have an excellent sense of picturisation. All the characters that you have chosen will fit appropriately. (Nambiar could swap with PP instead of KK but considering the times you have stated he was young). Let me think and come of current actor and actresses who will not even come close to what you have profiled.
