  • Who is a Brahman?(vajrasuskopanisad)

The human beings are classified into four groups.
    They are Brahman,kshatria,vaisya and sudra
The Brahman is the highest person
His exalted state is depend upon certain qualities
The quality is not based upon his
Birth, caste, physical characters, knowledge, deeds or ethical behavior
It is based upon his merger with the metaphysical truth
Once he is merged with the truth he is not theory laden
He is part of the truth
    He is a brahman

Chatur Varnam Maya srishta - Guna, Karama vibhagashah-

I have created the 4 varnas based on onceGuna and work.

Lord has clearly said that the varnas are not based on birth and also not just work. Guna is also importatnt.

But many people quote the first line and delibarately leave the second line to give an impression that lord says that the varnas are created by him.

Simillarly Valluvar says - Pirappokkum ella uyirkkum sirappovva sei thozhil vetrumayan

Valluvar says - not by birth but only based on work. Lord Krishna goes a step ahead and says - Guna also matters.

But often Valluvar and Krishna were quoted with the first line which gives a totally different meaning.

Had it been only by birth - There wont be a valmiki, vyasa, viswamitra or arundati.
  • There is a report today that the Valmiki temple in East coast road may
be demolished for road widening. Is it true? I know it is in the middle
of the road with the traffic going around that. It is only proper that
it is relocated in a nearby area.
