In early 20the century and even till 1960, the writing of veda/veda commentry was not very popular and with the lack of such fecility there are lot of mis interpetations by people who had a western outlook ( One who did not understand the concepts)
We members of this group, as seekers of the truth in any subject, can read ourself understand. The technology is very helpful for this. Go to this site, please read yourself and give YOUR views. it will help to explore more.

The Siva Panchakshara comes first in Sri Rudram. His kailsa abode, blue neck are all well explained.
It gives various names to Rudra. hunter, Blacksmith,Potter ( Kuyavan).one who advises on weights and mesures to traders, gardener, grower of herbs, doctor, lord of thieves, warrier, hunter.
When the lord of thieves is told, the next mantra explain that again like this.
The thieves are within and he is the master. It is inline with the Hindu concept of both good and bad are manifestations of God.
Then the lord is called as assembly, president of the assembly, horse, horse owner, servitor, lord of servitor, army, commander of army, carpenter, wood cutter, maker of chariot, fisherfolk, fowler, dog, ( yes it calls the god is dog also),dog keeper, Pasupathy, stormy rain, flood, landed propoerty and the protector of that property.

This will help to clear many mythsand unforyunetely these myths are very attractive and support it with half truths.
I request members to debate with this support on rudra and Siva.

  • Dear member Sri Narasimhan adds ::

The Rig Veda was not a static document. It underwent changes as they were in the nature of correctives. For instance, the the Rig Veda placed Varuna as the first visible representation of the Supreme Power; but later it was changed, giving the pride of place to the Sun.

It is clear from the foregoing that many changes were brought about after Kashyap. Zoroaster was the first reformer.

Saivism was a later- day creation, and, therefore, many verses added to the Rig to give the impression that the original Rig Veda had all the Rudram, Chamakkam etc.
