Hi Prabu chennai to thanjavur there are many temple of hostoric nature on the way you nrrd to tske s right before villupuram into the kumbakonam road. we have panaya puram at 2 km, thiruvathigai at panrutti, gkc after meen surutti lovely temples at kumbakonam and then you can reach tanjore. i am not sure about road quality after the rains'
if you dont mind taking slight detours you cane see chidambaram , kadambur etc which are a few kms off the main road
