Deepening of kollidam during Karikalan period

Hi

Has anyone come across any reference to deepening of kollidam during the Sangam age? I'm aware of the strengthening of the banks of kaveri. Past kallanai, kollidam river bed seems to be about 10 feet deeper than kaveri's, that's why the question.
