    Canterbury ) Vs the Emperor of England ..

    what is more interesting to me is that THIS EPISODE Saint (Becket)
    Vs Thorne (Henry II) was also in early Twelve Century in England !

    Reminded me of Dasavatharam movie!

    There is a great movie 'Beckett' with Henry II versus Thomas Becket struggle starring Richard Burton and Peter O Toole. Landmark had a copy when I saw last. Highly recommended for those who wish to understand the western concept struggle of state vs religion that continues in many forms to this day.

    one of the best novels i have read till now- PILLARS OF THE EARTH by
    KEN FOLLET was approximately this time period
