And Vinayaga Chathurthi Nalvaazhthukkal to all our members and their family / friends!
Reminds me of THIRUPURAMBIYAM :: where our PS story line introduces Ravidasan & co..,
Here the PILLAYAR is known as THENKUDITHA VINAYAGAR @ PRILAYAM KAATHA VINAYAGAR .. (Putru vinagar).
On the Vinayaga chathurthi day (tmrw - 3rd Sept), about 100 Tones of HONEY will be POURED as Abhishegam - and the entire Honey will go inside the deity !
Ganapathi Agraharam (near Kabisthalam / Kumbkm) :: No one performs offering of KOZHUKKATTAI in their name.. It is a COMMUNITY function over here. all the villagers bring their home-made Kozhukkattai to the Temple, offer to the deity and share !
Swetha Vinayagar @ Thiruvalanchuzhi : " Kadalnurai" Vinayagar. small, yet powerful and historically important deity.
Achirupakkam : siva's Chariot axle broken since he failed to take congnisance of Vinayagar, in his hurry to destroy the Tripurantakas !
Gangaikonda Vinayagar at Nageswarar temple Kumbakonam : victory trophy by Rajenda - I on Ganges expedition.
Vaatapi Ganapthi - thiruchengotangudi by Paranjoti @ Siruthondar (though it does not appear to be of Chalukya origin, though in Sivagamiyin Sabatham it is mentioned so)
Aadhi vinayagar :: Thilatharpanapuri (recall vaaram oru aalayam by Nataraj)
and of course OUR PILLAYAR PATTI.. very ancient Vinayagar ~!
Vinayagar worship is the easiest : use flowers , leaves (including Erukkai - arugampul) and fruits (native vilampazham !)..
It also depicts HUMAN's LOVE & RESPECT to the NON-HUMAN !
Recall Seerkazhi's " Vinayagane vinaitheerpavane .. " every green song ... !
ARU Padai Veedu for Vinayagar : I have read somewhere.
Let me recall a few - not in any order. KaLLa VaaraNa PiLLaiyaar - Thirukadaiyur MukkuRuNi Vinayakar - Madurai Dundi GaNapathy - Kashi (doubtful !)
Am not very sure of the others. Remember having read this near the Vinayakar Sannidhi at Thirukadaiyur (Thirukadavur) (and in some book/magazine also later). Sorry, am not able to give full info.
