A couple of days back, I was scanning through the TV channels and had a glimpse of a program in History Channel for a couple of minutes. Its about Vampires and tracing the existence of vampires. So as an introduction, the existence of vampire as blood sucking creatures around the world was discussed saying that the concept of current day vampire is different from earlier days.
As part of the intro, the concept of vampire in different part of the world in olden days was shown...
and shockingly, for less then a few seconds, Kali was shown as the Indian vampire. I was shocked to see and hear that. How on earth, without any study on a particular belief, such a high org as history channel can make such claim, that, Kali is a vampire?
Someyears back they were writing our history, so we would have believed their words but now the situation is different we started discovering what and how we were and also started (In near future if not now) rewriting the history of India particularly more about tamilnadu.
let us see any possibilities to protest such a kind of false info about our gods. But dont tell this to present TN govt they will add this to their antihindu agenda ;-)
The West's nonsensical comments on KaLi are to be definitely protested.
That aside, there is something interesting in what Satheesh has told : If you read 'Da Vinci Code', Jesus' daughter is supposed to have been born in France and was baptised there. Some of the real followers of their holy feminine (aka Mary Magdalene) were also called Gypsies. And if my memory is right, the book calls Jesus' daughter as Sara.
Just fyi, there is a beautiful temple for Kali in California built and maintained by westerners. Ramakrishna mission has many followers who are westerners and revere Kali as Dark Goddess.
Most definitely this program is not projecting the right image and needs to be informed on that.
