I have been a resident of Triplicane area of chennai for more than 10 + years. Though I have witnessed the Utsavam of parthasarathy and narashimar on a regular basis I have never given much attention to a mandabam called "gagana Mandabam". Only recently I came to know that gagana was a corrupted form of the word *"gangaikondan"*
I have gained some knowledge about RRC and RJC from this very same forum, and I was very surprised to find a "Gangaikondan Mandabam" in the heart of triplicane.
The madabam is used mostly during utsavam time and remains locked on other days. I was curious to know if this "gangaikondan" is RJC. If so can any of members shed some light about the presence/ history of this mandabam.
That is nice observation... most welcome. pls feel free to post more.
Secondly there is no need to mention sorry - even if it discussed earlier. The easiest method is :: just type " Gangaikondan " in search space and if discussed you will get related mails.
GANGAI is not something Casual.
It is a matter of FUSION with Northern Tradition.
There have postings on Ganges expedition earlier.
Pls go through.
Dear Thiru,
kindly help in consolidating postings related to Ganges ..
Anyone knows about the Siva temple Dhandeeswaram at Velachery? I found some chola inscriptions last week. There wasnt enough time to read, as my daughter became impatient...
