Rajendra Chola and his naval expedition to Ceylon, Nicobar, Kadara and further cast to overcome the Sailendra empire (11th Century A.D.).
Artist Shri K.K. Hebbar, Bombay.
Artist Supervisor Shri Gopal D. Deuskar, Bombay.
I have been trying for the same for the mural done by my grandfather. Late (Prof.) R.Krishna Rao (In the same link see Panel No. 2)..With help of some close contacts in Delhi, I was allowed only to see the mural. I am yet to come in contact with people powerful enough who can allow me to take a picture (A high resolution one). Panel 1 to 7 were done by the stalwarts of Government college of Arts and Crafts, Egmore. At that time, Prof. K.C.S. Paniker was the principal, hence his name as the Artist Supervisor.
At the moment, I dont rememeber the panel 34 you mention, but very vividly I remember seeing the Panel 37 showing Rajendra Chola. It is a very beautiful mural with Rajendra Chola standing on the right side of the composition. He has his right hand pointing towards the ships which are about to sail on an expedition and the left hand on his waist. His posture unmistakably tells you that he is the ruler of the seas and the lands beyond. His facial expression is also immpecably potrayed.
I just wish I could take photos of all the murals decorated on the wall of the parliament corridor...
