sujatha in anandavikadan
  • Hi
as a tribute to sujatha, anandavikadan is serialising his writings.
today's issue was about a fabulous cricket match in srirangam.
it reminds me of ananda vikadans one year tribute in 1955 for kalki-
a year with every issue having some of his writing.
sure these guys are professionals when they come to pay a tribute.

That was a news to me Venkat! Thanks
  • Yes gokul
ananda vikadan went out of the way to honour kalki on his death.

inspite of the bad vibes between kalki and vasan
they stopped a issue half way and printed kalki's photo on the
    wrapper.
the one year of his articles came out recently as " kalki valartha
    tamil"

  • Dear All

Its been some time since I have penned in the forum

Good to see Swetha ,Seethalaxmi madam and Suji back.

Very many discussions it ll take ages to catch and respond

August meeting Excellent Idea..It would mark the 1000th Year of Consecration
of Big Temple Any plans to combine with the Sadayam...or even have an
    awareness day on the BT?

    Kind Regards

    Sri
  • I remember when Kumudham used to let individuals prepare a weekly
issue. When Sujatha did it, there was a article where he mentions that
he asked his wife to write something and she had threatened him with
"I WILL EVERYTHING", and Sujatha responded with "No man is a hero to
his wife" ! I would never forget that line.

    Very true:-))
  • Just finished reading that.. Looked as if it was
written just yesterday. I still can't believe he is no
longer living.. Like Kalki, he will never be forgotten
and new generations will keep reading his texts...
  • If I remember right, Sujatha's 'Srirangathu Devathaigal' has an
article about this cricket match. I think Sujatha mentions how happy
he felt seeing his photo in the newpaper the next day, though it was a
local match and a local news at a corner of the paper.

exactly the same one sathish. i think it came under srirangathu
    kathaikal

and sujatha did not get a photo , just a mention as rangarajan.
    scored something like 8-9 runs.

but he recalls a college match where he was umpire and gives a wrong
lbw desicion. has to be escorted safely thro the toilets after the
match as the " baathikkapatta batsman" is after him with a pen knife.
