  • Few important things from the article

"Have you noticed how the walls of the sanctum sanctorum are covered
with modern tiles, making the place resemble a wash room?" he
    shudders.

They used modern tiles!, this is outrageous.

"During the five pujas in the temple, all 430 dancers danced and
worshipped Lord Siva, accompanied by 150 musicians"

Imaging 580 people dedicated during puja for 5 times, dancing and
singing with all the lamps, it might have been feast for the eyes!

    Hi
he definitely WAS NOT talking about the big temple.
I have seen a a lot of temples over a decade and i dont think many
sanctums of the ancient ones were covered with tiles.

of course our modern temples are done so for reasons of maintainence.

The article speaks about Nandipuram. In my very first trip with PS
team or rather varalaaru team, in Jan 2005, I got a chance go spend a
day with Dr. Kudavoil. Infact he guided us through lot many places in
and around Kudanthai. The ended at a village, where he rushed us
through a few temples, as it was getting dark and started narrating a
story, mesmerizing indeed, and after an hour or so of narration (it
was about Pallavas and Nandipuram), atlast said, the place where you
    are sitting is Nandipuram.

I think Gokul has the complete recording of the speach. He has the
talent of transporting people back in time, with his scintillating
speach. A simple and amazing personality with a very polite nature.
