1) What are your views about Rajarajesvaram built on top of a existing temple, like Sembiyan Mahadevi rebuilding the Tirunallam temple? If it wasn't so, then what about the old temple in the place called that of Tanjait-tirut-talik-kulattur mentioned in the Appar's Devaram, the Tiruttandagam.
2) Descriptions of pitha and the prabha inscribed on srivimana of the periya kovil. Can anyone give a brief description about what this means?
3) Is there any other old temple which lists the donations to this extent? (defining height and weight, metal composition, solid or hollow... there should be one hell of an Accounting department, isn't it, when seen in context with the size of the temple itself)
4) to quote from the article, " brought out in the eulogy of the court poet in the Larger Leyden Grant" .. Large Leyden Grant.. thamizh paduthangalen please..
5) Does any of you guys know anything about this ' Sri-Rajaraja-Vijayam', or is it still an unfound mystery?

I had a thought when I read this?.... Is this Tanjait-tirut-talik-kulattur temple the same in which Sendhan Amudhan does Siva Kaingaryam, as per PS? or is that a fiction?
Sendhan Amudhan's kaingaryam in Thali kulathaar aalayam is not a fiction. That temple is somewhere in thanjavur only around the periya koil.
But the periya koil is completely a new construction. There are some strong evidences for this and based on them only Balakumaran handled this matter in Udaiyar.
Dr. Jaybee... naanga ungalukku romba thollai kudakarom pola irukku.. really thanks a lot for ur explanations... reply'la "subject authority" stamp nalla theriyuthu.. i think we are lucky to steal ur time now and then and have some of ur answers...
I got the journal paper "Ties that bound: Royal Aliances in Chola period" today from my school library. I will upload it ASAP. When i went thro the paper, i noted some interesting facts.
Trailer for the paper.
1. The moovar koil ( The temple of the three ) in kodumbalur - the three were Bhuti Vkiramakesari, who had the temple constructed and his two wives Karrali and varaguna.
2. "Difficult to identify , as well to locate spatially , are the puzzling Vallavarayars. they have recieved considerable attention from scholars........the prominent Cola( *note - not chola) princess Kundavai , elder sister of Rajaraja --over whom she appears to have exercized a strong influence, which we can infer in part from the prominence given her donative records inscribed on the famous Rajeshwara temple that rajaraja constructed in Tanjavur- was married to Vallavaraiya Vandiyadevar. The marriage to a close Cola ally did not remove her very far......" is a piece of paper.
3. It does talk about number of wives each cola king had and the reason for it with all the maps and
4. Also about the reason for Arumozhivaramar - the name, from where it came and a lot more .....
Yanai pasikku ChoLAppori :):). I am very very excited to read through the paper. Since i dont want to spoil the fun of every individual going through the paper, let me stop here and scan it as soon as i can.

Jana, I have been busy these days, so missed out your write up. Looks like you have a question on Leiden Museum. The museum is not in Belgium, its in The Netherlands. Last month, I contacted the museum folks to know if the copper plates mentioned in PS are still there. This is the reply I got:
Dear Mr. Thilak,
I think this is a question for the Museum of Ethnology in Leiden.
Kindest regards, Harry Leechburch Informationcentre
Hello Thilak, thanks for being in the loop & a very good thought & try as well to reach the library.. will try to check with my friends over here, if they know anyone in netherlands.. probably a local person might be a bit more handy.. will update the status in a week's time.. btw, did u try to reach the Museum of Ethnology in Leiden?
Jana, Yes I tried. Think u missed the last part of my previous mail :) Idho:
Then, searching the net, I could find the National Museum of Ethnology, Leiden's website, but they didnt show their exhibits online. So I reached a deadend. If not I would have shared it with you all. Anyway, this is the URL: http://www.rmv.nl/
