Though the subject what we raised did not figure in the Press note, it is nice to see the ASI Chief in TN, with Collector of Thanjavur inspecting the renovation aspects.
Through private circle I came to know concerned officials were advised to show more care to preserve and maintain ORIGINALITYT - which is what we are all concerned about.

I was there last week vijay. the main work is going on the two storey outer ring. there was No action in the temple though there was some scaffolding. just outside the keranthakan entrance a motorised machine to crush 'santhu' was working. i hadnt taken a camera and so I could not record it.
so many huge temples renovated in the last century have this susystem. a circular groove of dia 30-40 feet on which a wheel runs powered by a bullock. can anybody list the ingredients of santhu?
