The Lord surveyed the Ram Setu and said "Hanuman, how diligently and strenuously you and your vanara sena had built this bridge several centuries back. It is remarkable that it has withstood the ravages of the climatic and geographical changes over centuries. It is indeed an amazing feat especially considering the fact that a bridge at Hyderabad built by Gammon using latest technology collapsed the other day even before they could stick the posters on its pillars."
Hanuman with all humility spoke "Jai Sri Ram, it is all because of your grace. We just scribbled your name on the bricks and threw them in the
sea and they held. No steel from TISCO or cement from Ambuja or ACC was ever used. But Lord, why rake up the old issue now."
Ram spoke "Well, Hanuman some people down there want to demolish the bridge and construct a canal. The contract involves lot of money and lot of money will be made. They will make money on demolition and make more money on construction. "
Hanuman humbly bowed down and said "Why not we go down and present our case"

Speaking about the Ram Sethu, so far all the articles I read about it, says that this project is useless and is only wasting public money. it has no returns but will do irrepairable damage to the environment and the country.

The most important need of the state is a bare minimum double line broad guage train path that connects Chennai and Kanyakumari.
Today, if one wants to book a ticket to Chennai / vice versa, the ticket has to be booked 2 months in advance. There are very few trains because the line is already overloaded. It is very difficult to get tickets in between. How will people travel on urgent and planned needs?
It is barbaric to say that one can not travel to the state capital when needed.
Let them first connect all district capitals and business centers with a double line. It will help boost the state economy as goods and people can be transported at less cost and time.

According to Valmiki, the vanaras did not talk in Tamil; they perhaps conversed in prakrit and samskrit. Either Tamil was not in vogue then or the 'Tamils" did not intervene in the epic struggle between Rama and Ravana.
Why do you read meanings which are not there?

vanakkam friends, sethu samudram project(SSP) though first concieved by british...got a fillup in 60s mainly due to the efforts of thiru o. v . alagesan who was a member in both nehru and sastri's cabinet and a tuticorin congress leader(he personally met nehru and explained abt ssp) . stalwarts like c subramaian supported it. thiru annadurai and his dmk(incl thiru karunanithi) didnot support the venture at that time.so now dmk want to project themselves as patrons of ssp looks silly and it seems that they want to get the political advantage and personal gain. with regards, ramnath.
Kishkintha from my 'sitrarivu' was on the place where we border TN,Kerala and Karnataka... Vaali throws dhundubi into rishyamukha mountains which is on the border of Pampa river. Going by the yojanas of the kick, it must have been in the mountains of the southern vindya ranges. So the statement of TN is monkey state is a very bad arguement. Plus these people from Kishkintha were not monkeys they were half breeds (more like planet of apes only with much more skill and power - even more than humans). So much was their power,skill and bhakthi that Rama who had the command of the Deva army chose to go with them to take down Ravana.
The statement on tamil land is totally ignorant. Rama was from the thretha yuga and Vibhishana was an epitome of dharma who helped Rama to vanquish Ravana. Both Ravana and Vibhishana were tamil. Skanda avatar was in Kretha yuga (ahead of Narasimha avatar). So the idea of an undeveloped tamil land is blasphamy. Even if you claim the skanda avatar generating from the ganges, the great Lord chose himself to be a part of this land due to its ever existing bhakthi cult. Just the sheer number of siva / vainava sthalams must account for the land. In kali yuga... truth is, bhakti is the only way to salvation and what more do we need as accolades? PS: If I am not mistaken, valmiki has been quite bit to our land (maruntheeswarar temple in thiruvanmiyur also is a space)...
