This was discussed under an earlier topic : RE:Raajakesari and Parakesari-- R v going to preserve such info? Hi Suji and others, You are asking a very valid question. Generally such information is lost in the maze of emails and it becomes a very complex task to cull out useful info from the rest. I do the following to get over this : Whenever I write such informative mails to PS group, I also put a copy in a word doc. Over a period, this has grown considerably in size and should contribute for varalaaru website.
But unfortunately, I'm unable to do this for all other informative mails coming in PS group. I think we should take a collective solution to this. YOUR POINT IS EXTREMELY VALID AND CERTAINLY NOT FOOLISH.
Dr.Jaybee wrote excellent mails in agathiyam and forum hub - full of information. But we have to go thro all those old emails to find out his gems and reaction of others. I always have the habit of going to agathiyar archives whenever I find time.
These are the limitations of egroup discussions and we need to be concious about this.
What I generally do to maintain a copy of my personal records / files is, I make use of the 'Personalise' option of 'My Yahoo!', which gives 6 MB free storage for each ID holder. Previously, they were providing free webspace of 6 MB, whereas, it has been reduced to 4MB recently (if I am right..)
I think, any one of us (specially, who is actively partcipating in the Varalaaru development activities) can create a person mail ID on yahoo and make use of MyYahoo for storing such mails containing vital information, in notepad form (it occupies very less memory) or in RTF form.
Even I am ready to volunteer myself for creating and maintaining such an ID where I shall make a copy of all such vital informative mails. I shall circulate the Mail Id and Password for those who are actively working on PSV website. Kindly inform me, to whom I should send these info.
Kindly provide feedback whether this would be an advisable approach? I also invite the suggestion from all of u....
