Agree. The outside of the big temple is resplendant with intricate sculptures - however, i was a little stumped when the inside were pretty bland - the pillars were just rectangular blocks devoid of any carvings.
But why - it must have been RRC dream/passion/ambition and having come so close why did he / RJC not carry on to its end.
what happened inbetween that warranted dropping of such an important project and starting something of similar scale. ( hope its not the legend of bad luck associated with it)
why did they rush with consecrating the temple in such an unfinished condition..what was the compulsion to do so.
Was RRC feeling he might die before the actual work would be finished prompting him to advance the consecration.
What was the time gap between consecration of the big temple and RJC starting with GKC.
Hi, Even mahendrar cave temples are also in unfinished states. My native is near by mamandur (nasrasamangalam) mahendrar cave temples(4). They are in unfinished state only.
