Puli kaal muni / Vyakra padar...
  • interesting - quote from wiki link on chidambaram:

Vyagrapathar / Pulikaalmuni (Vyagra / Puli meaning ‘Tiger’ and ‘
patha / kaal’ meaning feet â€" he sought and got the feet and eyesight
of a tiger to help climb trees well before dawn to pick flowers before
the bees visit them in the Thillai forest and worship Lord Shiva in
    the form of Shivalinga

Apparently in Thirusirupulioor,(about 10 min away from Koothanoor)-
(moolavar Arumakadalamudhan and the Utsavar is Kripasamudrar). In the
Thiruveedi of Perumal, there is an idol of Puli kaal Muni...
  • Hi
    there are a hundred puliyurs.
chidambaram where vygra padar got his boon of tiger claws( the vilva
tree had slippery bark) is called puliyur. so is cudaloe thirpaathiri
    puliyur.
a team headed by sriraman and sps went to thiru pulivanam near
chingel pet where the lingam had a claw mark.
another team went to the hillock near chingelpet called pulipakkam.
i think photos are in the folder.
all these have a connection with vyagra pathar.

many natraja statues too have an image of vygrapathar at the base
    along with pathanjali
