May 11 Please! I'm visiting our family deity on May 19. So I cant come on 19. But, if everyone decide on May 19, please go ahead.
My thoughts to questions below:
Q1: Body: May be PS group! Funding: By participants Timeframe: 1 year from now
Q2: Not our game! I foresee too much of politics.
Q3: We should do both together. May be separate teams. However, our priority should be palm leafs. Because they are perishable items.
We can form a team, setup who will do what and complete it in a reasonable time frame. But I dont see many active participants from our own group itself. We suggest / discuss a lot. But end of the day nothing happens....
Hello All - SPS, Venkat, Nanda, Sampath and everyone in the effort, I was reading the mails on the pam manuscripts digitisation effort. I am a complete novice to all that is discussed here, and am not sure if I even comprehend fully the magnitude of the task and its significance. But from whatever I have read here, I would like to contribute in whatever little way, if possible towards this effort.
-What tasks can be done by volunteers like me, who do not have knowledge or experience in these matters? -My dad and mom go to their native villages periodically. Would it be worthwhile for them to ask around their villagers for things like these manuscripts?
I am just throwing thoughts around to get some clarity..
Yes please! Any attempts to bring about such things welcome. Just imagine - one of your villagers may be possessing a lost sangam tamil literature / copper plate of a chola king / ancient navigational map / what not... knowingly or unknowingly.
