Ponniyin Selvan has been released in Project Madurai for the Tamil New Year. See the announcement below.
Thanks a lot to the wonderful volunteer team who made this timely release possible. Everyone who made up the team were so happy to participate - needless to say enjoying to read Ponniyin Selvan again.
My previous (first) email to our group got more volunteers than I had expected and so I could not accomodate everyone in the team.
I hope you will all enjoy (again) reading this classic. Feel free share this news with your friends.
Every effort has been made to correct the errors and format the text. If t= here were any missed, please send an email to [email protected] and I will try= to fix this.
Also enjoy reading the other works in Project Madurai. Ponniyin Selvan bec= ame the 169th work released in Project Madurai. If you would like to contri= bute any other work to Project Madurai, kindly do so.
Completion and Release of Ponniyin Selvan in eText is a wonderful achievement and what better a time to do it than the Tamil NewYear. Congratulations to all the members of Project Madurai.
I joined this group very recently and I would like to contribute to the other efforts of Project Madurai.
Krupa, You had mentioned about the efforts you undertake towards contributing to tamil. Could you please elaborate on the same, so we could appreciate it better.
One more feather in the (enormous) cap of the PS egroup:-)
Thanks to all the people who made this possible. I hope we get SS on the Net soon too. (And 'Alaiosai'. And the short-story collections. And 'O maambazame'. And...)
I found something interesting- a commemorative stamp released by the Govt - of Kalki (and the now-famous 'kaveri annai holding up a child' picture. You know- the symbol of 'Ponniyin Selvan'.)! Will scan it soon.
Thilak- the translated version of PS - written by C.V Karthick Narayan- was released by Macmillan (publishers). In the year 2003. Its got five volumes- and volume five itself has been split into five books. (I believe) . One part of Volume 5 costs Rs 250!!!!. The whole set costs Rs. 2200, I think.
