  • Dear SPS,

    You said:-

    > IT IS NOT UDAYAR PALAYAM. IT IS UDAYALUR.IN UDAYALUR
THERE IS TEMPLE KNOWN AS PAALKULATHAMMAN KOIL. IN A
PILLAR, THERE IS AN INSCRIPTION THAT THERE WAS A"
    RAJARAJAN THIRUMUNDRIL" IN WHICH
    RAJAJARAJADEVAR "EZHUNDARILAYA" MANDAPAM IN SIVA
PATHASEKARA MANGALAM, WHICH GOT DILAPIDATED AND IT
WAS RESTORED BY ONE WHO PERFORMED VRIDHAM.

NEARBY THERE IS ANOTHER PLACE WHERE THERE ARE CERTAIN
SIVALINGAMS.THERE IS ANOTHER SIVA TEMPLE NEARBY.

THESE DETAILS ARE POSTED IN www.varalaaru.com already.
RRC' - Uthama and all were called as UDAYAR..

I am asking back this question:

So this Udayalur Shiva temple is the place where the great King
    rests?
The Shiva lingas lying nearby.. in open? Any action plan to
cover them, building small mandaps with vimanams?

    Pls enlighten me,
  • Dear Chandrasekaran

I too visited Udayalur in May 2004, near Pazhayarai, a Huge lingam half of which is inside the plantain field Mud, People nearby told me, Rajaraja II was buried in that Place. Kindly clarrify.
