I was watching Neengal Keta Paadal and something occured to me..
With all theclout we have in Sun TV KK and KK in Vanakkam thamizhagam which most of the general population dont watch
Why not get Sun TV to do a segment or two on Periya Koil ...Instead of the usual newly weds they can interview scholars for a change or may be interview public asking them about the various saliaent features of the temple
    That would reach the world....

    What do yo all say...

BTW SPS you havent forgotton the big temple shadow picture have you

Thanks for your reference Sir, I will be willing to inform any
member who wants to know more of Swami KaviYogi Shuddhanandha
Bharati and his works. Many PS members have contacted me and have
purchased his Keerthananjali containing 1015 songs covered in all
    Ragas, and in all subjects.
We recently conducted free medical camp for the rural children and a
science exhibition cum competition (on 10.12.2005) to instigate the
children start love Science, rather than just mugging up the
lessons. The display of science models by rural children was
awesome, as it was mostly innovative, less expensive, also finding
    solutions to rural problems!
We are in the process of developing a web site on Shuddhanandha
Bharati as he is a poet, national leader, lyricist, dramatist,
writer (500 books to his credit), dancer, who also wrote Natananjali,
perucssionist (had wrote a book on Mrudangam talas) and many more..
The other members may find this ltr diverting the subject; Hence I
am stopping here. Just to say that more of his multifaceted persona
will be brought to notice by website, blogs etc.

  • Hi

Did this Kaviyogi publish the ancient Tamil Sangam
treatise on music / dance ?

I came across this in some place. It looks like he
published the first part of it and then passed away.
Remaining parts of this sangam literature is gone into
    oblivion because of his death.

Please throw more light on this.

    Best regards.
  • Great idea :)

Kaviyogi has written a nice book putting silappadhikaram in its
simplicity. I have this book - very interesting.

This is another book by another scholar. Sa.Tu.Su.Yogiyar (was it
him?) did a great work on Kootha nool - part 1 and subsequently he
did not take up the rest. Member srihari wrote a detailed mail and
that is what you are recollecting !!
