Udaiyar ..
  • Dear SPS
thanks for the warm sentiments regarding the blast thankfully We were in manchester actually I was travelling from Manchester to Birmingham...
Yesterday We had a similar scare with the whole of Birmingham citycentre getting evacuated...
Scarry times but Que Sera Sera....

As for Udayar it was only after reading the foreword of 2nd Volume did I appreciate your involement and advice...

I totally agree with you in title ....PS cannot be compared at all....May be Vengaiyin Mainthan...Kanchi Kathiravan

I first thought it was denoting The Sivan because he is also called Peruvudayar but the title could have been more nicer...

But one thing I really appreciated and felt with romanjanam was the description of Balakumaran about entering the Periyakoil.....I have felt the same way ....

The last thing I remember of Bala or when I saw him was on 15 Feb 1994...It was our Graduation day after dinner after lightmusic and beer and the usual we all went to snowfield and went to the beach near Gandhi statue that used to be a routine....

There was a bearded figure sitting in the lawn in a padmasanam posture...looked like Bala...we have met him to invite for cultural festives etc....While we were thinking of going and talking to him he made a big hungaram and with his eyes closed was shouting sometime in chase tamil aka Guna kamal and was trying to catch something in the air....
We thought we should leave him on his own and headed for the college....Interesting
