Last Saturday I met Dr. Kalaikkovan and Dr.Nalini. They were preparing for their field-work (10th visit easily) next day. Dr. Kkvn said he was tied up with this Work for the past six months and all other earlier works are pushed behind. He has another 4 - 5 months works on Tiruvalanchuzhi itself before projecting everything with more clarity. Since we have been watching so closely, the amount of work one single temple has consumed appears to be amazing. They reach the site in the early morning and work till dusk in hot sun and humidity. Then arrange and analise the data. Cross verify with other sources.. Discuss various possiblities among themselves and put forth the findings.
Dr.Kalaikkovan, Historian Dr.Rasamanickanar's son... is an eye- specialist ! Doctor in Medicine ! In our varalaaru.com group we have his ardent followers - none from History Discpline ! They are bound to carry on the works easily for another 30 - 40 yrs.
