  • Hi Sri,

oops.. well to be honest I didn't really know how the phrase came into
being. So I turned to our trusted friend Google. One site says that it
is a terminology taken from cards where to throw your tuppence worth
in meant to make a lowest bid.. to enter a game.. and hence thereby to
giving ones opinion about a matter under discussion.

Don't know if that is true though :)

    CHeers,

    Arun

  • Probably 'Two Penny's worth' would have got changed like this.. we
often say in tamil also..'dhambidi proyojanam ellatha vishayam..'
or 'paisa proyojanam ellatha matter....' etc. should be something
    similar. right..its my interpretation.
