Sri Rama Navami Festival at Sri Oppiliappan Temple
Oppiliappan koil is among the 108 divyadesams The lord is also known as lord Venkateshwara’s brother and so those devotees who are unable to visit tirupati to fulfill their promises can do so here. All food offerings at the temple are strictly and completely saltless. Salt or any food item containing salt is not allowed in the temple beyond Garuda’s Sannidhi. In rhis temple every year at the time of Sri Rama navami the Rama Bathabhsheham festival is perfomed to the Ramar who is the separate sannathi of this temple. This is the very important festival of this Ramanavami.
