Vaikunta Ekadasi Vaikunta Ekadasiis one of the important festivals dedicated to Lord Vishnu Vaikunta Ekadashi is observed in the month of Margazhi. It is celebrated with great importance in all the Vaishu Temples. The Importants is SORGA VASAL it is PARAMAPADA VASAL or VAIKUNDA VASAL. But there is no sorgavasal in Kumbakonam Thivyadesam. But in this temples there are two gates ie Uttarayana and Dakshinayana .
Uttarayana and Dakshinayana Uttarayana basically refers to the northward journey which the sun undertakes on the first day of the month Thai(tamil month) Dakshinayana basically refers to the sothward journey which the sun undertakes on the first day of the month Aadi(tamil month)On these days the Northern and Southern Gates are opened respectively in the Sarangapani and Chakrapani Temples.
