balakumaran's contribution to tamil is significant
  • sir,
there is no denial that balakumaran ayya's contribution to history and spiritual aspects of tamilagam is significant. the assesment is also based upon his readership extent. his works on thayumanar, arunagiri, manikavaskar, kumaragruparar and now on ramanamaharishi....are a new style and beginning in tamil spiritual writing. unlike the traditional writing he has some element of social and personal details to the chracters. this is objectionable to some conservative people. well most of his male characters have some oedipal fixation. that may be attributed to his own psychodynamics. modern literary criticism includes psychoanalysis of the characters and the author as well. in that sense i do not find anything wrong in his narrations. in fact it is a correct trend in the post-modern tamil writing
