There is one more Thiruvaleeswaram near Ambasamudram. It is 5 kms away and on the fringes of Brahmadesam.(Rajaraja-chaturvedimarigalam,
a brahmadeya in Mulli-nadu,)
This temple is under ASI and well maintained. Temple is full of inscriptions on the entire goshtam and outer walls too.
Except dakshinamoorthy and chandeeswarar no goshta deavata. The lord radiates a divinity. The temple has vast lands but nobody pays any money. Govt pays Rs 300 on one kala pooja and pooja happens once a day. No visitors either.
The temple has many scluptures on the tower. The Kannapar, Chandesa anugraha moorthy, nataraja ,... captured all.
A big ganesa and Muruga in the outer prahara look later additions.
A pillar before bali peedam, ( image included) mentions about RRC keeping a batalion based at that place. ( see ASI board)
The temple has inscriptions from RRC onwards till Nayaks. Searched for Vj's friend Pulithoppai but not found.
Vadakku vasal selvi, Jwaradevar , sastha, saptamatrika ( the two images sitting on both the ends unknown)
Tiruvalisvaram.
