N A A R A A Y A N A
  • Jovially - " Naaraayana " - * by Naaradhar - reminds one of some Kalagam ( disagreement) which paves way for some greater Reveletion.. !

Some time back I requested Dr. Nagaswamy to clarify whether (as per Literature / records atleast) Siva is mentioned first or Vishnu mentioned first.

He was very considerate in enlightening me ::

In Vedas - Rudhra is mentioned. The prime Devatha is Agni. Fire.

    AGNI PERFORMS TWO THINGS PRIMARLILY.

    1. Destructing (let us focus Evil).
    2. Illuminating ( Let us focus ENLIGHTENMENT )

The Destructive performance was attributed to Rudhra and thus lead to Siva.

The Illuminating ( Protecting) performance was atttributed to Vishnu.

Now Can one say in the FIRE - which has come first ?

    Whether the Destructing Quality ?

Or Illuminating Quality ? Obviously both co-exist from inception.

That is why Sankaranarayanan & Arthanareeswaran concepts were also equated.

Nayanmars / Azhwars also hymned of ARIYAI ( Viehsnu) - ARANAI (Siva) and Ayanai ( Brahma)...

Siva dancing to the breathing notes of Vishnu was TERMED AS " AJABA " Dance in Thiruvarur too... ( Friday / Saturday Thiruvarur Thaer chariot festival )

Passing on further - RAMA ( DEVI ) has become to be known as Raama too ...

Yesterday entroute Mayiladuthurai Parimala Ranganathar, crossed Thirukoodikka. And been to Siva temple.

Thirukodikka is studded with inscriptions. Sembianmadevi renovation.
    Thevara shrine.

Here Semvianmadevi COPIED EARLIER GRANTS and inscribed :: " Idhuvum pazhangalli vettinapadi .. " As it was inscribed in the earlier stone- inscription !!

In this Temple Ambal is THRIBURASUNDHARI @ BALA.

Thirumangai has visualised this Ambal as BALAJI - Lord Venkateswara !!

While writing on Thiruvangadam - I did bring out that Alarmelmangai is neither LAXMI nor ANDAL nor Bhoodevi - but BALA !!
