The name mandan refers to his slow movement - 30 years to complete the zodiac but the one i mention is associated with birth of Indrajeet. Ravana asked all the planets to be at the right zodiac at the time of Indrajeet's birth. Lord Sani moved his leg to the next zodiac.
On seeing Ravana cut that leg and Sani threw that part to the next zodiac. ( that is called Mandi and used in Kerala Astrology)
