I was recently in Madurai and was fortunate enough to know that Madurai AIR (All India Radio) has produced & serialised 'sivakamiyin sabatham', which is aired every saturday for 20 min. from 8 PM.
The serial is running for more than 50 weeks and now it is almost at the end of the novel. Last week, when I listened, it was about the success of the Pallava army in 'Vaathaapi' and the subseequent 'Vaathaapi thakanam'. The serial that day went upto the thalapathi Paranjothi seeking retirement and transforming as 'Siruththondar'. I was disappointed to have missed it.
The play was well enacted and the voices matched with the personality of the characters nicely. I felt great for Madurai AIR.
