Ramayanam before Kamban -20- Rama temples
  • The second temple is Thiruppullanai - thiruppullani. ( alwar calls as Pullani)
    In sanskrit - Dharba sayanam.
    According to valmiki ramayana
"Following the scriptural injunction, that Rama who was devoted to his sacred vow, while sleeping on the ground
spread with Kusha grass, spent a time of three nights there.
Remaining there for three nights, Rama who was skilled in policy and fond of piety,
waited upon the ocean, the lord of rivers

Thiruppullani is actually Thiru + Pul + anai
Pul is dharba grass. The legend, the name of the town confirm that it is a old temple.
The lord also called dharba sayana ramar.
