The Madras high court has upheld the order of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment (HR & CE), stipulating certain procedure for worship at Sathiya Gnanasabai established by Vallalar Ramalinga Adigal. Justice K. Chandru dismissed the petition filed by Subhanatha Oli Sivacharyar, challenging the order. Petitioner claims to be hereditary archaka of Sathiya Gnanasabai in Cuddalore district. The Sabha was founded by Vallalar Ramalinga Adigal. Following complaints that the petitioner has installed a sivalingam which was against the principles of Vallalar, the HR & CE stipulated that there should not be any form of deity worship.
