A group of weavers - worshipping Chamundi - left Hampi during Pamini sultan invasion and reached Darapuram. Some spread around Vatlakundu area .. now known as Pachaimalaiyanpatti earlier some rogudapuram village.
An 80 year old lady vouched that she has seen one SANJEEVINI - young girl in her 7 - 8th year with Godly looking apprearance moving around.. the Girl was desired to be married by several including a KANNIVADI Zamindar ... One of the surviving heirs confirmed this also.
The girl fearing to be a Zamindarini - cursed her beauty and entered Fire ! Next couple of days later - her head alone was found unburnt with hair (which is believed to grow even now) and kept under worship in a small hillock..
The 80 yr old lady's Weavers family brought and kept in a box duly using preservatives and was in private worship till last 5 years.. then a temple was built and the head is preserved there.. alternative years during sivarathri - the head alone is permitted to be seen by devotees and some of them confirmed that they have seen the hair growing, facial skin as that of human and the head is so fresh-looking and Godly !
