Discussions on Tamilnadu history - More questions added.
  • Dear Friends

Let us go back to our original discussions.

I once again post the list of questions i asked for my own understanding. Can you help me on this.

    When was Silappadigaram written?
How you arrived on its time.?
It is writtenen by a Chera Prince and hence pre Kalappirars?
Who was the Chola King in Silappadigaram?
The Sillappadigaram says Tamilnadu is from Venkadam to Kumari. Then was Chola empire extenended upto Vengadam from Cauvery? If not then who were the rulers of North TN? Even yesterday i found Purananuru saying the same but who were rulers? Is it malayamans, Adiyamans. ( Some refernce given in the forum stated vadapennai as villupuram. Villupuram is then pennai and Vadapennai is in Nellore)
Why it dosenot speak about the “Satyaputo Neduman Anji” or other Satyaputos? There is no mention of any other culture other than Chera, Chola and Pandyas? When Ashoka mentioned Satyaputo, then where they disappeared all together ? or were ruling the place between Thiruvengadam and Northern border of Chola country?
The Big 3, did not recognize the new power? Is that why they were missed out Adiyamans in Silappadigaram?
    8. Kadunkon arrived in 575. Simma Vishnu in 500 itself?. Then how we can say that Kalappirars were vanquished by Kadunkon?
Pillayarpatti is dated to 5th Century ( Also to 4th Century ). Even assume that it was done on 31st December 499 ( last day of 5th Century to satisfysome ) then how Pandyas could have built a temple before Kadunkon?

Who are these Elugattur Thachhans. They are in the rock cutting business for around6 centuries from 2nd BC. In all their epigraphs they have not mentioned about any king.? They themselves seems to be an independent entity.
Then, Kalppirarars may be meant as Pirar in the kalam, there are many independent chieftains in the field.

Then the kalappirar goes to 2nd BC based on Thirumalai inscriptions of Elugattur people?

Why Silappadigaram talks more about Hinduism than Jainism and Budhhism? If it is a Budhist/Jain literature? That period was supposed to be a Kalappirar period?
    The
    12. Then should history be pushed back by centuries as argued by many History Scholars ( whom were labelled as Hindutva brigade).
    13. The style and language is suddenly becomes easy ( ie for us in 21st century) between sangam/silappadigaram to Nammalwar /Appar. Is it possible for a such a sea change within a short period? ( assuming that sangam/silappadigarm to 4th AD)
    14. can anyone have any idea about the excavations in upper cauvery bed and the finding of terrokota pillayars.
