POOONIYINSELVAN VARALATRU PERUVIZHA :: 15.08.2009 :: Morning Session
  • #@@--@@ 18234838 25 [email protected]@[] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] cumsacks2station, Ganeshkumar (who handled power points - Thmizhthai vaazhthu - National Anthem etc), Vizag Dhivakar, Ravi from Tamil Sangam, NDTV Vaidhyanathan, Gokul, Seetharaman, Viswaksenan and other members were also present. Mrs. Shoba and her husband Mr. Ramakrishanan (who stayed and enjoyed the entire meet) graced the occasion.

Editor Kalki - Sita Ravi arrived dot on time at 0930 hrs.
Kavipperarasu Vairamuthu came in around 0950 hrs., by which time Dr. sathyamurthy, Dr. Rajavelu, Dr. Selvakumar, Front Line Subramanian and Photographer thyagarajan arrived.

With Thamizhthai vazhthu and Independence day Greetings the meeting commenced.

Introduction by vizag Dhivakar and PSVP narration by Gokul was well received.

    Honouring the members done first.

Ponniyin Selvan Trailor was gripping. Well appreciated by one and all. Following by Power points on Adhichanallur - Saluvankuppan - Cauvery delta Historical finds with speech by respective Scholars.

Sriraman made a SILENT power point which was so much self explanatory.

Kavipperarasu' s speech was adorned with Diamond and Pearl in the Crown of the Meet.

He idenfieid all the researchers as Thyagi's for performing selfless service..

He identified the Ancient Temples not only as the place of worship - but being multipurpose - serving as Bank, Treasury, providing empoyment, entertainment, serving as Cultural Centres and also as Asylum duing natural calamities and war... And there is definitely to preserve such cultural assets..

The Palaces of the emperors were lost because they belonged to individuals ... but not the cultural assets they built... because they were built for public purpose...

He realised the two sides of an Emperor .. say Rajaraja..

He was a great Warrior who mapped the contours of his Empires with Sword and bloodshed... We take pride .. and the sufferers obviously would not take..

But underneath such Warrior there is a Human element... When a person wants to give grant to the temple he built, he allowed that by way of Ghee to light a lamp... but with a condition that the ghee should be met with by about 96 sheep (Saava moova peradu)... Another villager in a distant village will heard the cattles, make his livelihood and also pay the Ghee to light - which is for public purpose.. This Human element is greater then his conquers..

He was so much emotionally moved...

He recognised the fact that PSVP is also rendering such service to the public... with very limited resources of its own..

Saying so, HE ANNOUNCED A SPOT DONATION OF RS. 25000...

He was so much emotionally moved. Those who assmelbed in the hall were all also very much moved emotionally.

He offered to recommend to get the support of the Government in matters of public purpose.

SPS gave single line vote of thanks and the function came to a close with National Anthem just prior to 1230 hrs.

We all had lunch at Bharathiya Vidhya Bhawan, Mylapore.

    Will continue on evening session..
